Rotary Mothers’ Milk Bank – A Lifesaving Initiative
The Rotary Mothers’ Milk Bank is a flagship global grant project of the Rotary Club of Tirupati, made possible through the generous support of Rotary Tirupati members, Rotary Club of Greentown (RID 3300, Malaysia), Rotary International District 3190, PDG Nagendra Prasad through DDF support, and The Rotary Foundation.
This pioneering initiative is the first Mothers’ Milk Bank in Andhra Pradesh equipped with an advanced milk analyser, ensuring the highest standards of safety and nutrition.
The Milk Bank serves newborn babies by providing safe, pasteurized, and tested breast milk donated by healthy mothers. Every drop is carefully collected, processed, and distributed as per medical protocols to infants in critical need—especially premature and vulnerable babies.
This project stands as a testament to Rotary’s commitment to saving lives, nurturing the future, and serving humanity with compassion.
Vision
Many newborns are unable to receive their mother’s milk due to various medical and personal challenges. At the same time, there are mothers who have the ability to share this precious gift.
Through the Rotary Human Milk Bank, Tirupati, we aim to create awareness about the importance of breast milk—the first and most vital nourishment for every child. We strive to ensure that no baby is deprived of this life-saving nutrition.
We also seek to encourage and inspire mothers who can donate their excess milk, turning their kindness into a lifeline for infants in need. By bringing people together, we hope to build a caring system where every drop of mother’s milk becomes a source of life, strength, and hope for another child.
